Initial Ryback injures then-WWE winner CM Punk, forcing him due to TLC last year, and it appears the neophyte who had previously been rushed to superstardom offers hurt "Superman. "
The image of Ryback driving the current WWE champion, John Cena, through the lighting and onto a corner flooring of the arena is mostly a chilling one, causing this writer to ask plenty of questions—including if Ryback can be a threat to hurt anyone he wrestles because he appears to be "raw" and misses marks every so often, causing injury.
This is one instance where you hope this was "planned" and it's also part of the WWE's plan to bring back CM Punk as a face again with the firm.
With one month right until Payback in Chicago, if this became not a "fix, " than the WWE may be in a world of hurt. It cannot afford to forfeit any more faces throughout the franchise. Numbers are dwindling. Fans are in shock, and I am still trying to figure out who will come to help you of the WWE together with save it from a depletion.
Dolph Ziggler has gone out with a concussion. Christian is MIA. Punk is going to be involved with Payback since it is in Chicago. Undertaker has gone out on injured reserve.
Ryback and Cena's match, which was fairly decent taking the end, has such an cause problems for what will happen in the next few weeks, more so on other wrestlers than independently. It appeared this was not part of the plan and Cena was indeed injured. Ryback is helped backstage, and Vince McMahon is required to be on the phone calling considered one of his lifelines for help.
Who fills your void? Does Cena play through the pain? Does Ziggler come back as a face and first start AJ. It would be awesome if he is Kaitlyn's secret admirer. Such a tangled web the WWE weaves.
But let's stay focused at this point on Ryback and Cena. Cena is more tormented by this than Ryback if both are injured, where it looks like Cena took the brunt of the injury. But booking, planning, hoping and staging have right now all been compromised.
I am certain Vince was on the telephone immediately to Punk, asking him to send back sooner than later and perchance to Batista, asking Dave an extra chance and save the moment. A lot can happen in the month, and in the following case, it needs to get better than worse.
Within the WWE's case, the later is rather more likely. Everyone is in your "wait and see" mode until Monday night, when the real message will be sent. If the WWE does indeed, in fact, lose Cena to an extended injury, this changes the full dynamic of the company and possibly makes Vince and the boys plan an exciting new road to recovery designed to focus on new superstars and force the firm to see the error of putting a lot of gimmicks in one bag.
Extreme Rules was typical at best Sunday evening. John Cena being injured might have made it worse than WrestleMania in line with the impact his injury would have.
