The dark clouds that loom over this years Indian Premier League ...

Favouring a match-day policy that considers fireworks and dancing girls appropriate for almost any situation and dealing in sums of money never before seen in the sport, the Indian Premier League has had a profound impact on world cricket since it brashly burst onto the scene in 2008.

If test cricket is the Cutty Sark, a Victorian antiquity lovingly preserved whatever the modern world throws at it, then the IPL is Roberto Cavalli's yacht, gunwales overflowing with hideous leopard print sofas, variously shimmering surfaces and a constantly changing array of global stars.

Yet for all its gaudy excess and dazzling financial incentives, Twenty20 cricket's premier annual event has not had the hugely detrimental effect on the other forms of the game that many feared it would.

While there have of course been some negative consequences to the IPL and it is still too early to see its long-term impact on the sport, there have also been undeniable positives – the extra money on offer giving some serious financial support to cricket's less wealthy nations being an obvious example and West Indies' World Twenty20 success last year also springing to mind.

However with just days to go until the sixth edition of cricket's spangliest slogfest starts in its own predictably overstated style, things are far from perfect in the promised land with several dark clouds looming over the tournament.

The first of these is the horrific assault this week of New Zealand's Jesse Ryder, who was in self-imposed international exile but due to join up with the Delhi Daredevils for the IPL.

Ryder has had a troubled career with a collection of off-field incidents that have matched and hampered his otherwise not inconsiderable achievements on the pitch. However there was a sense that he was close to making his much hoped-for return to the international fold and that the IPL – a tournament perfectly suited to his aggressive batting, useful if unspectacular medium pace and excellent close catching – would provide the stage for him to shine once again.

Instead as a result of a disgustingly violent attack he lies in a Christchurch hospital and while fortunately he is showing early signs of improvement the incident has shocked the entire cricketing world and provides some real perspective ahead of the commercially driven IPL.

The other unwelcome shadow cast over this year's tournament is one almost entirely of the organisers making and which adds to a pre-existing if rarely discussed flaw of the IPL, the exclusion of players based solely on their nationality.

This is the decision to prohibit Sri Lankan participation in any matches in Chennai due to political tensions involving the island and the state of Tamil Nadu, of which the city is the capital.

Chennai Super Kings' Sri Lankans, Nuwan Kulasekara and Akila Dananjaya, are obviously the worst affected players although with big stars such as Mahela Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Lasith Malinga, Tilakratne Dilshan, Angelo Mathews and Ajantha Mendis all playing in the tournament, other sides will perhaps feel more hard done by.

While there may be genuine security fears behind the decision, the IPL organisers could perhaps have just moved Chennai's home games – after all the last time there were security worries, the whole tournament was moved to South Africa at very short notice.

The move to ban players from certain games purely based on their nationality is an unwelcome one and mirrors, albeit to a less radical degree, the decision to prohibit Pakistani players from taking part in the IPL, which was introduced in 2009.

While despite the adage, sport and politics do inevitably have to mix at some point; it is to their ongoing shame that the IPL organisers have not taken a more inclusive stance, not only because it could potentially have a healing effect but also because a tournament shorn of players like Shahid Afridi – a man seemingly factory-built for the quick fire adrenaline-fest that is the IPL – is all the poorer for it.

In spite of all this, not to mention the ever-present problem with English players' participation and the fact that injury has already ruled out big names such as Kevin Pietersen and Michael Clarke, there is still much to look forward to in the weeks ahead.

After all if you can't take some joy from the sight of Chris Gayle coolly striding to the wicket and like a swashbuckling, golden-padded god, casually blasting the ball around every cricketing coliseum in India, then perhaps the sport's not for you.

Newspaper Cruelly Taunts Both Patriots And Cardinals Fans With Tom Brady Trade Scenario That Will Never Happen

The New England Patriots went 12-4 this year. They entered the season a Super Bowl favorite, and they reached the AFC Championship, still a Super Bowl favorite. They had a lackluster game against a Baltimore Ravens team that has given them lots of trouble, recently. The Ravens were underdogs, but they pulled the upset.

How can the Patriots fix their (minor) problems? By trading their best player, one of the best players of all-time at the most important position in the game! The one who just had an incredible year, again!

Seriously, a writer for the Eagle Tribune came to this conclusion (or, more likely, took this angle of trolling both Cardinals and Patriots fans). I wanted to look away, but the awfulness is just too seductive.

Back in 2009, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick flirted with the adage that "nobody is untradeable," when he dealt an in-his-prime, potential Hall-of-Famer Richard Seymour to Oakland for a first-round pick.

Nice premise! If Bill Belichick will trade an elite defensive lineman, why won't he trade the guy who might be the best quarterback of all time?

Championship-starved — trust me, Belichick needs another Lombardi Trophy like I need air to breathe — since 2004, despite four trips to the conference title game and a pair of Super Bowl appearances, the Patriots have to contemplate this conundrum.

My opinion? Yes. He's still elite, top three or four. But he's not the best of the best any more. We've seen too much in big games the last handful of years.

My opinion? No. While I believe they can compete at the highest level, particularly in the weak AFC, there are too many key holes to fill (more on that later).

So, without any further beating around the bush, it's time for Patriots football CEO and head coach to consider what several million people probable deem unthinkable: Should the Patriots trade Brady?

I probably probable think more than several million people deem this unthinkable, because no intelligent person has asked this question. The first question, that is. The "Are you an idiot, Longo?" question has certainly been asked re: this article, as Longo knows. Self-aware trolls are the most dangerous.

In this instance, after another January disappointment against a driven, rugged, physical but soon-to-be dismantled Ravens team, sending Brady away this off-season would be the best for all parties.

Oh, I see what you did there! The Pats were beaten by the Ravens, and the Ravens will be dismantled by the 49ers! This was troll inception, hiding the "49ers Will Win Easily, You Idiots" article within the "Tom Brady Lost A Super Bowl Last Year And An AFC Championship Game This Year ZOMG Trade Him" article. Clever. Self-aware. Is First Take hiring?

Brady, even at age 35, should command a deal of at the least Ricky Williams proportions (somebody's entire draft) or maybe even to the extremes that the Vikings paid Dallas for Herschel Walker (two 1sts, two 2nds, two 3rds).

He's right! An otherworldly quarterback would probably land you an entire draft. Perhaps more. If the Pats are lucky, they might find a Hall-of-Fame quarterback with one of those picks! It's tough, but Belichick has done it before. Did you know, he drafted Tom Brady in the sixth round?

First and foremost, the Cardinals can't hurt you. In the NFC West, Brady is as far away as possible. Unless he plays another five years — highly unlikely — the only place you'll encounter Brady again on the field of battle is at a Super Bowl.

Trade Tom Brady to the Cardinals, so that the Cardinals can get to the Super Bowl. You see, by trading Tom Brady, the Patriots will ruin their chances at getting to a Super Bowl, so they'll never have to play against Tom Brady!

The Cardinals have the ammunition to attract the Patriots to the negotiating table. Remember, they pick at No. 7, an attractive spot for this draft, which has already been fortified by over 70 underclassmen.

You know the old NFL adage: if you have an elite quarterback, trade him for picks in a year where there's an underwhelming crop of quarterbacks.

Arizona also has incredible need. Most draftniks currently have the Cards dabbling with the likes of USC QB Matt Barkley or West Virginia's Geno Smith in the first round.

Why take a shot and fail again, a la Matt Leinart? This franchise can have its own new face in a matter days, one that is proven and currently stands at the forefront of the game.

In the alternate universe where this trade actually happens, Longo will be able to write the same exact column next year, in reverse. The Cardinals didn't win the Super Bowl with Tom Brady. He's only the third-best quarterback in the league. Trade him to the Patriots; they need a quarterback and could sure use a guy like Tom Brady!

If you're new coach Bruce Arians and you've got a choice, do you open your first real NFL head coaching job with Hall of Famer Tom Brady or the three-headed menace known as Hoyer/Skelton/Kolb?

This would not be one-sided. The Cardinals would get one of the game's best quarterbacks to go with one of the best wide receivers in the game (Larry Fitzgerald) and become an immediate contender.

Tom Brady can turn the Cardinals into an immediate contender, but he will not help the Patriots win a Super Bowl. Logic!

The Patriots are 7-7 over their last 14 playoff games with a defense that has "improved" from 32nd to 31st to 27th overall in the last three seasons.

The move fits, if not for the entire franchise, but for Belichick, who at times appears uneasy with this pass-happy product we have come to know, adore and be summarily disappointed by in the playoffs.

Replacing Brady would be a chore. But it can happen. Better yet, you don't have to replace him, just find a quarterback 75 percent as good as Brady, who can run an offense.

Remember that guy Matt Cassel? He led you to an 11-5 mark in 2008 when Brady was on the shelf. Chances are he could be had for a song in Kansas City, where he probably doesn't fit into new coach Andy Reid's system.

Shortly after the Super Bowl, Alex Smith will be seeking a new home. He was a couple botched punt returns away from leading the Niners to Super Bowl XLVI.

Oh, now it makes sense. Trade Tom Brady, acquire Matt Cassell. It's all about buying low and selling high, you guys. You think there's any way the 49ers would part with David Akers for Brady?

Greg Oden Reportedly Drawing Serious Interest from Heat and Cavaliers

Greg Oden is interested in returning to the NBA this season, and two suitors have emerged as the favorites to sign the much-maligned big man.

According to CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman, the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers have both expressed interest in bringing in the former No. 1-overall pick.

Oden and his representatives are apparently hoping to meet with Heat team president Pat Riley at an unspecified date within the next week, and the franchise is likely exploring a deal worth the veteran's minimum salary.

However, there's a chance Oden could score a bigger payday with the Cavs. Goodman's source noted that the Cleveland brass is willing to dole out up to $4 million for the center's services.

Regardless of where he winds up, it would be a surprise just to see Oden back in uniform and actually playing on the hardwood. Due to a multitude of knee injuries and surgeries, the Ohio State product hasn't appeared in a game since December of 2009.

The Portland Trail Blazers infamously selected Oden over Kevin Durant in the 2007 draft, a terrible decision considering the top pick only contributed in 82 games over the course of his five seasons with the team.

At 25 years old, Oden's knees have suffered more ailments and surgeries than most people experience in a lifetime. However, he's a tantalizing talent when healthy, having averaged 11.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in just 23.9 minutes during an extended stretch in the 2009 campaign.

With the Heat starved for cap space and having had no luck so far in developing high-risk, high-reward centers like Eddy Curry, they might be willing to roll the dice on someone with Oden's upside.

Cleveland could use a young center as a cornerstone for its youth movement, as Anderson Varejao is on the north side of 30 and recovering from a blood clot.

Unfortunately, Goodman noted in his report that Oden will likely not be ready to contribute for the tail end of the 2012-13 campaign, but should be ready in time for next season's tip.

As long as Oden shows he can stay on the court and looks promising enough in workouts, there is going to be a market for the 7'0", 285-pound big.

West Ham United recorded an appropriate 3-1 gain against West Bromwich Albion at Upton Park to all but allay any residual fears of being drawn right into a Premier League relegation struggle. Andrew Carroll gave the hosts the cause with a thunderous header with only a little over quarter of an hour or so before Gary OaNeil doubled their advantage with a tempting energy on 28 minutes gone. The Baggies came back into the contest after the period however, many strong defending ensured that the hosts retained their two target benefit before Carroll added a third with a smart volley on 80 minutes. The arrears were reduced by graham Dorrans with 88 minutes after the Hammers were forced to perform the past five minutes with twenty men after exchange George McCartney had to stop wounded gone from the penalty area. The readers didn't force any real pressure on Sam Allardyceas guys nevertheless and their frustrations boiled over when Youssouf Mulumbu was sent down in bizarre situations in the dying minutes for picking up and kicking the ball at OaNeil. Sitting just six points above the underside three and by having an April fixture record that contains Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United beckoning, the visit of West Brom to Upton Park had taken on increased sense of meaning. Drop and the boardroom parties that met the Hammers' acquisition of a brand new home can soon become muted by the realities of a struggle for survival, but boss Allardyce was once more able to turn to the midfield confidence of Kevin Nolan, who had recovered from a broken foot but the guile of Joe Cole was overlooked. The Baggies, that are on program to eclipse last season's best-ever Premier League end of tenth, started with a front two of Romelu Lukaku and Shane Long with Peter Odemwingie a replacement. Roused by a really energetic home devoted, the Hammers immediately go about their visitors from the Black Country with a mixture of neat, delicate passing in the centre of midfield and more immediate balls from back-to-front hauling Steve Clarkeas 4-4-2 development out of condition. Despite as he rapidly shifted his weight to get down to a Lukaku free-kick to tip it on to the post to ensure the clubs stayed at equality, their superiority, the hosts were indebted to the reflexes of owner Jussi Jaaskelainen with 14 minutes gone. Within two minutes of this Jaaskelainen end, Carroll had risen highest at a corner to head a OaNeil middle past Ben Foster to offer the guide to the Hammers their wonderful display had merited. With their front two remote, West Brom provided a threat with photographs from distance as Dorrans twice accepted the invitation of a reticent West Ham support to hurt the hands of the Finnish stopper a' nevertheless the hosts were in control. A gilt-edged effort was fired by jarvis over the bar from deep inside the box before OaNeil scored a tempting minute carrying out a quick-fire break ably assisted by Mohammed Diame and led by Ricardo Vaz Te. Having received a get back move from Vaz Te, the former Portsmouth person curled a whipped energy over a stranded Foster to increase his sideas advantage, and, with that advantage, Allardyceas men enjoyed the remaining 15 approximately minutes out with a level of power with the very best chance arriving the form of a cross-come-shot with 39 minutes gone. West Brom began the 2nd time in the ascendancy and, while West Hamas dogged defensive line limited the guests place in the final third, additionally, it served to identify Carroll with the space between a five-man midfield indicating tough to link, but an increase in strength soon found the hosts wrestle right back the effort. But, the guests could have pegged the Hammers back with 68 minutes on the clock but umpire Andre Marriner chosen not to point out the area despite James Collinsa over-zealous problem, by which his hand went in to the back of the Baggies midfielder Mulumbu. Even though close contact, the hosts were dominant in midfield and Carroll handed up a chance to increase his particular tally having been identified by Nolan in place. The introduction of Odemwingie a to howls of derision from the travelling help a gave the Baggies restored vigour nonetheless it was soon dropped after he tried two overly-optimistic shots from length before Carroll added his sideas third. The on-loan forward observed a Collinsa free-kick over his shoulder before managing a lovely volley past Foster with 80 minutes attended place the game beyond Clarkeas guys. Having lost McCartney to harm, West Ham suffered still another blow immediately after when Matt Taylor was adjudged to possess fouled Lukaku in the field a Dorrans took the responsibility to lessen the debts but, when Mulumbu lost composure in the dying minutes and was sent off, the likelihood of a miraculous recovery were dashed. Eden Hazard | Chelsea FC 360

Eden Hazard is in unstoppable form and is arguably one of the best Chelsea players right now, so I decided to assess what is so good about Hazard…

Hazard was definitely the best player at Lille during his days in the Ligue 1 winning the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year in 10-11 & 11-12 and winning UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year in 08-09 & 09-10. Hazard mainly plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger. Hazard is known for his creativity, speed, and technique. Hazard is described as a player with the ability to 'change the game with a turn of pace or a dribble'. Hazard is what you would call a 'defenders nightmare' but if you're in the same squad as him, a 'strikers dream'. Hazard has been compared to the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for his style of play managing to get the 58th place in the '100 best footballers in the world' by the Guardian, a magnificent achievement for a lad of 21 years old at the time. The French legend, Zinedine Zidane quoted 'I believe Eden Hazard will be one of the best players in football history, no question!', a compliment of this caliber from one of the greatest players in football isn't something you could just forget, no, it is something you should take to heart and try to achieve even more, exactly what Hazard has done by moving the Champions of Europe, Chelsea Football Club…

Eden Hazard possesses the same qualities Cristiano Ronaldo does, maybe not the ability to header the ball even though he has scored one header this season but he makes up for it in every other category. Below is a list of a few qualities that Eden Hazard possesses (WhoScored)

Now as you can see by those two photos, are Eden Hazard and Cristiano Ronaldo any different in terms of style of play? Ronaldo tends to be more of a long shot specialist whereas Hazard is more of a passing/dribbling specialist. Now I'm not saying you can compare the two players at the moment but who's to say that Eden Hazard will not be as good as or even better than Ronaldo in the future?

Eden Hazard is having an immense debut season for Chelsea managing to score 12 goals and 20 assists, already matching Juan Mata's tally in his debut season for Chelsea! Hazard has scored a range of different goals this season varying from long shots, top corner finishes and even a header. Hazard has managed to get 5 goals with his left foot which is supposedly his 'weaker' foot, 6 goals with his right foot and 1 with his head. Hazard's skills and tricks have been amazing this season, here's a few links for you:

If you watch those video clips, you'll see Hazard's ability to spot a pass, his ability to get away from players and his lethal shot, an overall winger/attacking midfielder you could say…

What has impressed me the most is how much Hazard has improved his defensive ability helping out Cole who keeps getting beat for pace by pacey wingers and Hazard constantly helping him out after a disappointing season by Ashley Cole who has not been in the best form.

Can Hazard really become one of the best players in football history, with the quality he possesses, who's to say he can't?

Heat's winning streak ends at 27 in Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) — The Miami Heat's 27-game winning streak was snapped Wednesday night by the Chicago Bulls, 101-97, when a furious comeback by LeBron James and his teammates fell short.

Luol Deng scored 28 points, Carlos Boozer added 21 points and 17 rebounds, and the Bulls brought the Heat's pursuit of the record to a screeching halt despite another big game from James.

Miami's superstar did all he could to keep the run going, scoring 32 points in a physical final few minutes that saw the MVP even collect a flagrant foul.

The Heat hadn't lost since the Pacers beat them in Indianapolis on Feb. 1. But after grinding out some close wins lately, including a rally from 27 down in Cleveland, they simply came up short down the stretch in this one.

For the better part of two months, they were the NBA's comeback kings. They erased seven double-digit deficits during the streak. They found themselves trailing in the fourth quarter 11 times, and won them all.

And when they walked off the floor in Chicago, they were not happy. Faces were stoic as the Heat trudged toward the locker room. James turned and glared at one fan who grabbed at his head. Meanwhile, the Bulls whooped and slapped hands with anyone they could reach, with some acknowledging that being the team that snapped the streak meant plenty.

It will go down as the second-longest winning streak in the history of American major pro sports, behind only the Lakers. And some of those who helped that 33-game run become reality were openly cheering for the Heat as Miami's streak rolled along, with Jerry West among those saying that he believed the reigning champions had a real shot at pulling the feat off.

The streak began on Super Bowl Sunday in Toronto, a day when Heat players were mildly annoyed about having to miss football's title game. When San Francisco and Baltimore were to be playing, the Heat were to be flying home for a game the following night.

Miami beat Toronto that afternoon, then stayed in the city several more hours to watch the Super Bowl together, an event highlighted by Shane Battier giving an unplanned speech about appreciating little moments as a team.

They blew out good teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Bulls, then inexplicably struggled with lottery-bound Cleveland, Detroit, Sacramento, Charlotte and Orlando. They rallied from 13 points down in the final 8 minutes to beat Boston, from a 27-point third-quarter hole at Cleveland, and from 11-point deficits against Detroit and Charlotte — all those coming in a seven-day span, no less.

"There are several teams that can do it," Pistons guard Jose Calderon said, when asked what it would take for someone to beat Miami. "It's difficult to maintain this concentration every day. It will likely take everyone to have a bad day."

"To do something like this, everyone needs to step up," said Battier, who was part of a 32-game winning streak at Duke, a 22-gamer with the Houston Rockets and now played a role in this epic Heat run.

There were times when even the Heat themselves didn't know how long the streak was. Because it was interrupted by the All-Star break, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was surprised when a staff member said something about Miami having won nine in a row. When it was at 24 games, Dwyane Wade made a reference to "23, 24, whatever it is."

Heat President Pat Riley played for the Lakers team that won 33 in a row, and remained silent throughout Miami's streak, mainly because he rarely gives interviews these days but more so because the official team stance was that it simply did not matter. This season is championship-or-bust for Miami, one where nothing else other than raising yet another Larry O'Brien Trophy will satisfy.

"I understand the history of the game," James said after the streak reached 25. "I appreciate the history of the game. But this team has a bigger goal than winning a number of consecutive games in a row."

When it started, Miami was 5½ games behind San Antonio for the overall NBA lead, only a half-game ahead of New York in the Eastern Conference race, held just a four-game edge over Atlanta in the Southeast Division and were the league's ninth-best road team in terms of winning percentage.

The Heat now sit atop the overall NBA standings, gained 12 games over New York in the East entering Wednesday, put away the Hawks for good several weeks ago and are now, by far, the league's best road team. And with the streak over, all that's left now is getting ready for the postseason.

Recently rich Manchester City give attention to care skill - Reuters UK

Thu Mar 28, 2013 3:56am GMT MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) - Having vaulted quickly to the top of English football thanks to large amounts of cash from Abu Dhabi, Manchester City are now actually investing in youth development to try to maintain their improved status. The Premier League winners are creating a new basketball academy at a reported price greater than 100 million pounds on property adjacent to their Etihad Stadium in the northern English city. Scheduled to open for the start of the 2014-15 season, it'll let City to teach up to 400 young players along side a squad of first group professionals constructed at great cost from around the world. Classrooms and accommodation blocks will be constructed to educate and house some of the children, while a 7,000-seater arena will help them to obtain used to playing in front of crowds. City's rapid increase within the last five years has been funded by owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, element of Abu Dhabi's ruling family. They should now belong to line with new regulations requiring groups to go towards breakeven or experience exclusion from European competition. Nevertheless, shelling out for youth development is omitted from the measurements, which makes it a doubly beneficial investment. Impressive although the City plans are, it'll demand a change in attitude along with gleaming new buildings to slow English soccer's failure to make enough supreme quality small players, says Patrick Vieira, the former French international who's City's football development executive. "With the number of individuals who play the game and the number of children who love and play the game, I think there is insufficient ability compared to what football is all about in this country," Vieira told Reuters in an interview. "It is a disappointment since I have been here for years and I love this place, the passion is loved by me from the supporters and the people," included Vieira, who performed for Arsenal for seven times. Vieira, 36, began his playing career in France and also played in Italy, providing exposure to him to coaching practices across Europe. ENJOY IT He speaks of the requirement for patience with young people, saying an over-emphasis on benefits can stunt the development of talented teenagers. "It is not about winning or losing, it is about how you can improve, how you progress year after year," he said. Growing up in France, he explained the focus was on stimulating budding experts to develop awareness on the subject, learning how to search for the next pass and to create the right decisions when on the ball. "Just have fun, don't be afraid to play, do not be afraid to make a blunder since most of us make mistakes," said Vieira, explaining what youngsters should be told. "What is very important would be to learn from the errors you are making." The English Premier League, the richest in the world, has recently changed its regulations to permit the clubs with the top ranked academies to simply take people regular from the age of 12 and recruit from all around the place. "The difference if you compare the English, the Spanish or the French or the Dutch kids, I do believe international the kids are spending more hours on it field compared to the English boy," Vieira said. "The guidelines changing I think has actually improved the grade of the people and I think it is important as well that a team like City can get a child from London." The changes put more stress on clubs like City to make certain youngsters obtain a whole knowledge on and off the field. City have a partnership with a nearby fee-paying school that enables youngsters to combine training and education. "The knowledge part of it is really quite important, as a football club we would like these people to be a good human being, the one who can answer all the issues he will find in life," Vieira said. City realize they have some catching up to do weighed against more established European powers in regards to growing their very own skill. "Barcelona have been doing it for the last 35 years and we've just been doing it for a few years and we're a, long way behind," Vieira said. "But next four to five years I hope that we will have young people who will come through the school and play for the first team since we've some great young players." (Editing by Sonia Oxley)

Bracketron General Golf GPS Bracket Assessment

Click on each image for a larger image As so does the item market that support it, technology advances. GPS is now a built-in area of the golfing experience for many, and we're seeing constant improvements to the technology behind it. However, sometimes the tiny things are what make a item certainly practical. Your GPS that will be made by bracktron, an aindustry leader in universal mounting solutions and accessories for many of todayas most popular mobile and handheld technologiesa has a product they feel until only a little simpler to access on the program. Itas named the Universal Golf GPS Mount and Iave been testing it out throughout the last month. From the Organization The Universal Golf GPS Mount for electrical golf carts and drive carts is made for handheld golf GPS devices. It simply adds on either the handle bars of one's drive cart or on the straight upright of most electric golf carts. The mount provides a secure, firm and easy to get at growing option for your tennis GPS. The involved Grip-iTas special design allows its clamping hands to open up to 4.5 inches wide to accomodate tennis GPS, iPods, along with mobile phones. Description In simplest terms, the Universal Golf GPS Mount (UGGM) is a nondescript, tough plastic bracket with a of soft plastic that protrudes from its back end. A closer examination reveals some useful features that could make it a valuable item for those individuals looking for a method to keep almost any type of GPS system in a practical and accessible location. The two rigid arms that make-up the edges of the UGGM are softened with a springy foam material that allows for a tight hold on the GPS unit. The arms could be altered by squeezing them down onto these devices and they are released by the button on the lower right hand side for easy removal. The advantage to that is that a standalone GPS, which can be small in size, fits just as safely as a bigger cell phone. As well as the adjustable hands, there are two afeeta at the bottom of the bracket that swing out if required to provide more assistance. Turning the UGGM about reveals the fitting that attaches the mount to your means of transportation on the course. Itas a flexible strap manufactured from rubber that may be pulled tight yourself. Loosening the band is completed simply via a key. Again, flexibility could be the key here, as the mount is allowed by the softness of the strap ( and ability to adjust its size ) to be properly used on any number of areas. Additionally, the band is attached with the mount that is allowed by a 360A swivel to move in just about any style that is necessary. Iall touch a bit more on that later. Performance Actually, Iave been looking for something like the UGGM for a while and have actually come near acquiring similar products. The two things that often held me back were 2) the question of whether my push cart would be fit by them and 1) uncertainty that my GPS device would fit in to them. When I discussed earlier, the UGGM quickly accommodated my larger mobile phone, in addition to both my smaller GPS system. Both units were attached with little effort, and they actually couldnat be any different in regards to breadth and depth. I do believe this can be a good testament to the usefulness of the UGGM. I was a little nervous concerning the UGGMas compatibility with my push cart. I use the Alphard Duo Cart, which is a fairly new product with some special features. The handle is fairly thick, yet the UGGM attached to it easily and conveniently. Because you can notice from the image above, Iave connected the UGGM to the part of the handle on my wagon and applied the 360A turning to position it in a manner that produces it an easy task to view and out of the way of my hands. Minus the power to swivel the unit, where I usually stay my left hand I would have now been required to place it. The picture below shows how Iave manipulated the support to have the required placement. As I was most interested in the UGGMas efficiency on a cart, a walker, but it was attached by me to a riding cart with the same level of ease. Final Thoughts Testing showed that the UGGM did everything it was supposed to. It had been extremely flexible and provided a reliable and conveniently located program for my GPS unit and mobile phone. Longevity seemed to be around par, as none of the unitas pieces broke throughout testing. In addition, itas supported with a 12 months warranty, according to Bracketron. The convenience of lacking to tie a to my belt or dig it out of my pocket while playing makes me genuinely believe that it would be considered a worthwhile purchase for all players. The Universal Golf GPS Mount from Bracketron is available for purchase on the companyas site, www.bracketron.com, for $29.95. Did you like this? A long road back to No. 1 for Tiger Woods

Woods returned to No. 1 in the world by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, not surprising except if you consider where he was a little more than a year ago. He had not won a PGA Tour in some 2½ years. He missed most of the summer and two majors in 2011 because of injuries to his left leg and Achilles tendon. He walked off the course at Doral a year ago because of tightness in the same tendon. It wasn't until June that he felt good enough to hit balls on the range after a round.

After making three straight bogeys to end his second round at Bay Hill, he stayed on the range for close to an hour. When someone noticed his caddie walking away, Joe LaCava replied, "Going to get another bucket."

Woods never let anyone get closer than two shots in the final round Monday, and when they did, he always had an answer.

Rickie Fowler drained a 40-foot birdie putt on the 12th hole at Bay Hill to get within two shots, and Woods followed with a birdie putt from 25 feet, sweeping the putter into the air with his left arm and marching to the cup as it dropped.

Even after Fowler bowed out with a 7-iron that came up short and into the water — and another shot in the water that led to triple bogey — on the par-5 16th hole, Justin Rose was still in the picture only two shots behind. From a fairway bunker, Woods hit 8-iron from 178 yards to the middle of the green for a two-putt birdie.

Woods played it safe from the rough on the final hole and made bogey for a 2-under 70, giving him a two-shot win over Rose. He tied a PGA Tour record that had not been touched in 48 years. This was his eighth win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 16 appearances. Sam Snead won the Greater Greensboro Open eight times from 1938 to 1965.

"If I get healthy, I know I can play this game at a high level," Woods said. "I know I can be where I'm contending in every event, contending in major championships and being consistent day in and day out — if I got healthy. That was the first step in the process. Once I got there, then my game turned."

Dating to that win at Bay Hill last year — the first for Woods on the PGA Tour since September 2009 — he has won six of his last 20 starts.

Woods never liked that question, perhaps because he's never sure how far he's going. And in his mind, golf is a game in which a player never arrives.

"I'm getting there," Woods said. "I'm very pleased that some of the shots that I struggled with last year are now strengths. One of the things that we need to continue to work on is getting it more refined. Because my good ones are really good. Just making sure the bad ones aren't that bad — whether it's a driver, 3-wood, long iron, wedge — whatever it is, that I'm missing the ball in the correct spots. That's getting way better."

Woods last was atop the world ranking in the final week of October 2010, a span of 125 weeks that represented his longest spell out of the top spot. He replaced Rory McIlroy, who has a chance to get back the No. 1 ranking this week at the Houston Open.

Woods has gone five years without winning a major, and eight years since he last won a green jacket at the Masters. He is trending in that direction with his three wins, and perhaps more significantly, with wins in his last two starts.

It had been 3½ years since Woods last won consecutive tournaments he played, the Buick Open and Bridgestone Invitational in August 2009. The last time he won consecutive starts before April was in 2001, and he won the Masters to complete his sweep of the majors.

Asked the last time he felt this good about his game going into the Masters, Woods replied, "It's been a few years."

Woods fell as low as No. 58 in the world as he coped with the collapse of his marriage, a loss of sponsors and injuries to his left leg. One week after he announced he was dating Olympic ski champion Lindsey Vonn, Woods returned to the top of golf.

Asked if there was any correlation to him winning right after going public with his relationship, Woods smiled and said, "You're reading way too much into this."

Fowler pulled to within two shots with a 25-foot birdie putt on the 14th hole, but after he and Woods made bogey on the 15th, Fowler went at the flag on the par-5 16th and came up a few yards short and into the water.

"I was swinging it well. I made a few putts, and trying to put a little pressure on them, let them know I was there," Fowler said. "Just would like to have that 7-iron back on 16. Just kind of a touch heavy."

"He plays every shot like he plays them on Sunday," Rose said. "His intensity is the same on Thursday often as it is on Sunday, and that makes Sunday a lot less different for him. He plays in that kind of atmosphere far more regularly than a lot of guys do, and it's an adjustment for most of us. It's a known for him."

It was only fitting that Woods raised his putter to salute the fans as he walked off the 18th green. The club was like a magic wand this week. He dwarfed the field in putting statistics, and this might have been the most absurd of all — Woods was 19 of 28 in putts between 7 feet and 20 feet.

"The three events that I've won, I've putted well," Woods said. "Stricks helped me out there at Doral and got me into position where I felt like I was now putting like I did at Torrey."

A huge selection of Newcastle United fans accused of creating trouble before... - The Independent

A huge selection of Newcastle fans have already been accused of creating trouble before one of the Premier League's most controversial suits of the growing season actually knocked off. The supporters upset inexperienced matches being played near the absent end of Wigan Athletic's DW Stadium by working on the pitches, dropping their pants, tearing out the nets and wanting to separate the objectives by hanging on the crossbars, an area official said. They later boasted concerning the trouble they caused - including robbing a A65 match baseball - on social media sites. The Premier League sport on Sunday was won by the house part 2-1, but the result has been overshadowed by the fall-out from the handle on Newcastle's Massaido Haidara by Callum McManaman. The young Frenchman was stretchered off after the Wigan striker's concern, which has been widely condemned but won't be tried by the FA. Before the fit, 250-300 chaos was caused by Newcastle fans when they got off instructors and wandered across to look at Wigan Cosmos play AFC Leigh Centurions in the South Lancashire Counties League, a Cosmos spokesman said. "As the followers poured out of the coaches, which were perhaps not handled by the club or police officials, they proceeded to watch the game from the touchline," the standard claimed. "Some fans then chose to operate on to the area of play, dropping their pants, causing the game to be stopped. "The condition then magnified as a group around 250-300 Newcastle United supporters followed suit. "Although good-natured at first, the supporters then started initially to rip out corner banners as they ran over the pitches and also got the match ball. The ball never was never recovered by "we, although we did manage to retrieve the corner flags. "The so-called supporters then decided to charge to the message where Goose Green Reserves were entertaining Olympic AFC in another South Lancashire Counties installation. "They again began by ripping out their part flags. "The fans then charged into the goalmouth, leaping on to the goalposts in a try to snap the crossbar with the sheer numbers clambering on them. "They then started initially to split the nets from the articles, wanting to take them and bringing them. Our people helped to retrieve the nets. "After spending quite some time singing and hanging on the goalposts, the fans then went back over to our message although singing 'We are Newcastle United, we'll do what we want.'" The state stated more damage was done to nets and corner banners. "Once again I would prefer to stress that, inspite of the obvious scenes developing, no support was offered from the authorities," the club spokesman said. "This event was a very undesirable experience that lasted for over 40 minutes and with families, fathers, granddads and children all watching the games as well as some quite experienced people who were all left shaken." Cosmos place the cost of replacing the ball and the nets at A200 - a little amount for a League side but a lot of money for an inexperienced non-profit side, the spokesman said. He fact revelling inside, showing no signs of sorrow, is perhaps even more troubling and in added: "The fact that these same supporters took to Twitter and YouTube to provide about the event. "Not only have they charge my football team a whole lot of expense but they have shown an overall total disrespect to football itself." Pictures of Geordie fans hanging on posts and walking on the pitches appear on the Cosmos club web site. However a Wigan Cosmos club standard has also exposed to The Independent that several public spirited Newcastle fans have agreed to make contributions to displace the vandalised equipment. In a statement, Newcastle conceded the behaviour of the fans has been undesirable. "Newcastle United are extremely unhappy with the conduct of a group of its fans who have been involved in the vandalism of equipment belonging to Wigan Cosmos Soccer Club and pitch incursions in their sport against AFC Leigh Centurions on Sunday 17th March which caused the match to be ended. "Our going fans employ a good reputation, nevertheless the measures of a community at this juncture were totally unacceptable. "Football, at all degrees of the sport, deserves the same degree of respect whether it's performed in the Premier League or at the grassroots level. "We were sorry to discover that this South Lancashire Counties Premier Division sport was disrupted in this manner and we would encourage everyone who observed this incident to contact Greater Manchester Police."

Stevan Jovetic: Analysing Arsenal, Manchester City Striking Target - Bleacher Report

Stevan Jovetic is a wanted man, and The Metro have continued the trend of linking the Fiorentina star to top English Premier League clubs in Arsenal and Manchester City.

The links between Roberto Mancini and Jovetic are longstanding, and many believed the upcoming summer to be one in which the Montengrin finally leaves the Artemio Franchi.

But this season under Vincenzo Montella has been nothing but a success, and the building blocks placed for a bright future in Florence may have Jovetic hanging around a little longer.

At the very least it will up his fee, as with him in the side, Montella will believe the Viola can challenge for the Serie A title and impact the UEFA Champions League—and rightly so.

He's developed his game rapidly over the last 12 months, moving from an attacking midfielder of sorts to an all-round forward capable of playing as many positions and roles as we have fingers.

Consider the fact that he missed the entire 2010-11 season with a cruciate knee injury and you cannot help but be impressed by the man's rapid ascension to football's elite.

He plays one of two different roles Montella has set out for him this season with regularity, and Fiorentina's recent flirtation with the 4-3-3 formation added a possible third.

For the large part, the Viola have operated in a 3-5-1-1 system that averages high-ball possession and excellent transitions across the field.

David Pizarro—the prototypical midfield metronome—teams up with Alberto Aquilani and Borja Valero extremely well to feed Montella's attacking players with regularity.

The front two changes depending on opposition, with Jovetic as the prima punta ahead of Adem Ljajic or Jovetic dropping into the hole behind target man Luca Toni.

The Montenegrin's understanding of the game is immense and clearly favours the freedom to drop in and out of the line and torment different defenders at different times, but Montella knows his strongest combination is the Ljajic-Jovetic connection.

This means the star man plays as a No. 9 but drifts wide and interchanges with Ljajic, who often plays from the left side and penetrates the box at will. With Juan Guillermo Cuadrado at right-wing-back, Ljajic's favouring of the left does not imbalance the Viola.

Jovetic is man who is just natural height and strength short of the "complete forward" label, and his ability to score thunderbolts from outside the area make his intricate dribbling and passing around the edge of the area even more lethal.

In the current market, Jovetic is worth £30 million (€35.22 million). That's a lot, but players of his calibre cost a lot. Unfortunately for City and Arsenal, such is the Viola's fantastic season, Jovetic may not even want to jump ship for one more year.

James Perch: Newcastle United's French legion are certain to get derby 'training' - Journal Live

NEWCASTLE United's French foreign legion is going to be offered a course in derby record to get ready them for the "unique" setting of a Tyne-Wear tussle. United will aspire to look after European business before going to domestic issues however the derby game looms large within the horizon for both teams within their April program. And James Perch says that Unitedas plant of derby debutants a' which may amount five if Mathieu Debuchy and Massaido HaAdara get over damage in time a' will be fully briefed before they undertake Sunderland within their abiggest sport of the seasona. Perch appeared in the last derby game at the Stadium of Light and acknowledges that it would be folly to mail Moussa Sissoko, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, HaAdara, Youan Gouffran and Debuchy into the match without some sort of warning in what the game may require. In previous years different techniques have been tryed by the Newcastle management to make their team for the game, including staying overnight in a video montage in previous years and a hotel this past year. Perch is sure Alan Pardew and the others of the teaching team could have some thing similar at heart this year. He said: shock can make certain they aget ita. aIt could be daft people to let them go into it being unsure of what the activities are typical about. aThe staff, the manager can tell them the importance of it and what itas about. Theyave enjoyed in derbies but I donat think it'll function as same. This really is unique. aI have played in the Nottingham Forest-Notts County derby sport, which is large for the reason that the main Midlands but it doesnat get anywhere near to this 1. aThey arenat silly, they are experienced players so they know what rivalries are all about but sometimes you just have to be given advice and things to be aware of. aThe administration here have often done that really well a' theyave organized us wonderfully for these derby activities and theyall repeat. aUsually we've an excellent build-up to the game, we take a little more time before that game than we do to others, which will be understandable as itas our biggest game of the season. aIn terms of the overall game, our French lads will soon know very well what it is about. aIave just played in a single a' I got on this year at Sunderland and liked it. Itas an excellent setting, fights are traveling a' I enjoy it.a First up for Perch and United may be the small matter of a trip to Manchester City, which occurs with Newcastle definately not safe in their struggle to keep Premier League standing. They will have Tim Krul back, however, with the Dutch goalkeeper returning to teaching recently in a bid to win back his position for the run-in. Newcastle will also be fortunate that Yohan Cabaye and Davide Santonas incidents don't look like significant. Keeping the protection together will soon be key to progress at home and abroad, where Newcastle remain on the brink of an archive if they keep another clean sheet in the Europa League wrap in Lisbon. Up to now they have shut out Anzhi and Metalist Kharkiv and they understand that another shut-out would be a modern record. Perch said: aIt will be wonderful to get the history. aI didnat really understand that, however it could be some success. aTo obtain a clean sheet in any form is extraordinary but to obtain five on the jump in Europe is something different. aIt will be difficult to accomplish this because Benfica certainly are a first class group. aWeave had some good results, played against some good clubs and got through to a period where itas very serious now. Iam delighted weare somewhere in which a lot of lovers can get. Iam certain weall get greater than a few supporters.a

Javier Hernandez: Too good for Manchester United's bench? - GiveMeFootball.com

This season has turned to be a bittersweet seesaw game for the former Guadalajara poacher. Despite having an impressive goal-to-minutes-played ratio, the Mexican currently happens to be at the bottom of the rung with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck all being preferred over him.

Javier Hernandez presents a stark juxtaposes when compared to his strike colleagues. Wayne Rooney likes to drop deep and conduct the orchestra as a pseudo playmaker. Van Persie has that exquisite touch that allows him to bring others into play. Welbeck likes to stretch out at times to complement the wingers.

Javier Hernandez meanwhile is a completely different package. He is not someone who will track back a lot or someone who will execute the sniper's pass. Instead he is a pickpocket and a poacher - someone who will linger near the goalmouth sniffing opportunities. His limited work rate allows him to be a much more lethal presence in the box where his instincts help United snatch crucial points.

This is the reason why he has been used in a super-sub role - having that ability to spurt moments of brilliance. Not being involved heavily in the build up play allows him to look for pockets of space and gauge the opponent's defence line as evident in his display against Chelsea.

His effectiveness as a super-sub has enabled Manchester United to mount comebacks against Newcastle and Aston Villa. Hernandez's contribution has been vastly underrated this season and Ferguson knows how valuable he is for the team. But for him to continue making a career as a penalty box assassin, he must be consistent with his finishing as even a single chance missed will raise eyebrows in the critic box.

Blessed with searing pace, Hernandez can add another dimension to his play by drifting out on to the wings and whipping in crosses or allowing the wingers and full backs some added degree of freedom.

For all the goals he has, Hernandez could have easily found himself in the starting XI of any other Premier League club. But the plethora of excellent strikers Manchester United have at their disposal has smothered any avenue of opportunity.

Should he decide to leave, Hernandez will find no lack of suitors. However, neither the player nor the manager has shown any willingness to part ways with each other. For Manchester United, this can only be a good thing. With his current aptitude he can etch his name into the Manchester United folklore the way Ole Gunner Solskjaer did but Hernandez will no doubt aspire to rise above that.

United States boss Juergen Klinsmann wary of Manchester United striker Javier ... - The Independent

US coach Juergen Klinsmann's motto for tonight's World Cup CONCACAF qualifier against Mexico has been "respect but not fear" but when it comes to dealing with striker Javier Hernandez, it is clear there is trepidation as well as admiration.

Manchester United striker Hernandez is by far the most deadly striker in the CONCACAF region and his two goals against Honduras, in Friday's 2-2 draw, took his national team tally to an impressive 30 in 45 outings.

"I don't like to talk about goals, for me it is points, results that count," the forward, nicknamed "Chicharito", told reporters on Monday.

Although an admirable sentiment, his ability to put the ball in the back of the net is what defines him as a player and - for the Americans - a threat to their hopes of a first ever qualifying win at the Azteca stadium.

Omar Gonzalez, the Mexican-American central defender who will line up against Hernandez, was well aware of the challenge facing him and a makeshift, injury-hit U.S. defence.

"He's just a great goalscorer. He's very mobile and is constantly on the move. During crosses, you can look back and you see him one place and the next thing you know he's somewhere else," the L.A. Galaxy defender said.

"You just have to be able to keep your eye on him, and the ball at the same time. If you can manage to do that and play tough on him, I think we hopefully won't let him get a goal."

The talents of the Mexican attack were evident in the 2-2 draw in Honduras on Friday - the opening goal was a brilliant, angled, glancing header from Hernandez after a jinking run down the left and pin-point cross from winger Andres Guardado.

The second goal was classic 'Chicharito', escaping his marker, timing his run to the near post perfectly and getting on the end of a cross from the left with a clinical finish.

"He is a player who is fun to watch. There is a reason he is playing for Manchester United - because he is good," Klinsmann said. "So, we watch him, we scout him, we talk about him and we are sure that our centre-backs will take care of him."

U.S. forward Herculez Gomez, who plays in the Mexican league, believes Hernandez's strength is as much in his attitude as his instinctive ability in the penalty area.

"He is mentally strong, I think he has taken advantage of every opportunity that has come his way and that speaks volumes to his mental strength. When benched, when doubted he just keeps coming back," said Gomez.

"From a striker's perspective - and for me, my whole game is movement, his movements are unreal, amazing. He finds gaps, spaces, makes himself available, his goals sometimes aren't the prettiest but he is such an effective player with his movement."

Nullifying the threat Hernandez poses will require the U.S. to deal with Guardado and the other creative force, Giovani Dos Santos, a pair of players who ripped the U.S. apart in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup final which Mexico won 4-2.

Hernandez didn't score in that game but Geoff Cameron, expected to start at right back for the U.S. on Tuesday, says it will require total concentration to keep him at bay.

"Get tight to him, keep close to him, his movement is fantastic - he kind of reads off your movement," said Cameron.

"He's just got a knack for goals, he's always sniffing around, you have just got to be prepared, keep an eye out all the time, because you never know where he is."

Birmingham United striker Hernandez is by far the most fatal striker in the CONCACAF place and his two objectives against Honduras, in Friday's 2-2 sketch, got his national team tally to a remarkable 30 in 45 tours. "I don't prefer to discuss goals, for me it's factors, benefits that count," the forward, nicknamed "Chicharito", informed reporters on Monday. U.S. forward Herculez Gomez, who performs in the Mexican group, feels Hernandez's energy is as much in his attitude as his instinctive ability in the penalty area.
