Precisely how FitGolf Will Dramatically Improve your Golf performance.

Golf Fitness is among those things, that I trust, can often dramatically improve your round of golf even more so as opposed to golf instructional lessons. Here's how come.

I recently visited this amazing Dave DuPriest at his recently opened FitGolf Capabilities Center in Wilmington, MA who can be described as genius in uncovering fragile (i. e.; non-performing) areas of your body that are detrimental for a golf swing and either improve or stabilize these individuals.

Dave has a full background in fitness such as a bachelor's degree around exercise physiology from Umass-Lowell. He's got also had stints to be a physical therapist and fitness expert before opening the sole FitGolf Performance Center in Massachusetts.

First, when you walk in you'll see right away that this can be a top-notch facility from the immediate welcome area with the entire space just is professional, clean and some sort of "we-mean-business and take golfing fitness seriously" attitude.

After meeting Dave (who belongs to the most friendly guys you can meet) took me into a side room and began his Golf Performance Evaluation (which is one service they provide). He asked me a huge amount of questions about me, my game, issues I'm having, etc. This is around understanding your history in addition to goals.

Next, we went towards a complete Functional Movement Monitor and Anatomical Assessment. These are a few very specific tests of which help Dave assess strength, stability, mobility, etc. inside you. For example, some with the tests included things like shoulder rotation, spinal/pelvic turn, abductor strength, etc. Wedding ushers tests helps to paint further information on your golf swing motion and how this will be affecting your long distance, consistency, etc. etc.

I loved this organ of the evaluation because as much whenever you think you know your system you probably really don't. One example was a glute evaluation where I lied on my back and experimented with lift only my leg. I thought I achieved it fine and it noticed fine. But Dave later distributed to me that I is activating other muscles in able to start. I said, "really! "

Basically things I thought had been fairly strong (as I workout regularly) weren't. So, I will say, almost without a mistrust, you will find parts of your body you had no idea were inadequate. It's very fun to look through this.

After gathering this info we headed inside the main training center which, by the way, is super state-of-the-art and has all this cool gear including K-Vest 3-D movement swing analysis, Cybex power rack, Vibrant weight balance system, Keiser multi-purpose machine, X-iser mini-step apparatus, treadmill, hydro rower, and two hitting bays with web returns. Very cool.

Dave had me put on the K-Vest which provides 3D motion analysis. It's a make of strap-on harness that encircles your upper body and hips (you can provide a sensor attached to your golf glove) that gives you computer generated, digital feedback onto your swing in 3 dimensions.

It's able to measure changes within your spine and pelvic stance, alignment at address, pelvis and upper body turn, pelvic movement, chest movement, etc. It also looks at the sequence of motion (kinematic sequence) This was great because after swinging with the vest on for many swings you can automatically look (and analyze) with the data on the close-by large flat screen monitor.

What was interesting to me that Dave noted was that I have excellent spinal rotation at my functional test but had a limited amount when swinging. Of course one was sitting and also the other dynamic (swinging) so there would be a definite stability issue that is not allowing me to absolutely increase my X-factor (separation concerning shoulders and hips) in that way possibly limiting additional long distance. I had no strategy!

Finally, we went on the the Dynamic Balance Strategy Mat which helps quantify balance at set-up and how your unwanted weight shifts in the golf swing. You basically stand on the mat and swing gone. There are known shapes of successful golf swings which this procedure helps to measure next to. It's really fascinating to work out how your weight actually shifts (in detail) across your swing.

Finally (we ended up closing in on 2. 5+ hours) Dave is required to take all this and interpret in which the most positive change are usually made. For me, it was a number of stability and strength issues – particularly in the flutes and abs which supports provide additional stability that's currently limiting my game.

Dave actually prints out the K-Swing summaries and all the *specific* golf exercises your dog suggests, based on their in-depth analysis. Mine are a lot like tissue paper now subsequent to reading and handling them a lot of!
