St George's Day events in West Bromwich this week-end - Sandwell Council (pr release)

Published on 18th April 2013 Two big occasions in West Bromwich this weekend are required to attract tens of thousands of individuals to celebrate St Georgeas Day. On Saturday (20 April) ancient turmoil can take within the Manor House Museum in Hall Green Road for a household fun time from 11am-3pm. Readers can see the Jester balancing with fire, marvel at the ancient magician, try it out on the bouncy castle and size the climbing wall. There is also birds of prey, walking minstrels, face painting and crafts. Admission is free, with a little cost for a few activities. On Sunday (21 April), there's a march and family event organized by the Stone Cross St George team. The march, that will be in its 15th year, begins at 10am from Westminster Road in Stone Cross at the junction with Marsh Lane and finishes in Dartmouth Park with a household occasion including re-enactments, archery, live music, stalls and substantially more. The march will undoubtedly be supported by the Royal British Legion's bike part, scooter groups and veterans - led by a carriage holding Miss Tipton and Georgie the Dragon. Street closures are as the parade moves is going to be in place. The celebration is expected to appear at Dartmouth Park at around 11.45am with entertainment happening each day. Admission is free. Sandwell Council leader Councillor Darren Cooper said he thought everyone enjoyed the St George's week-end. "The activities are likely to attract thousands of people and I hope the elements is wonderful for both days and everyone has an excellent time," he added.
