WWE: Joe Jericho's WrestleMania Fit with Fandango a Major Slap in the Face

Whether you prefer him or not, we can all concur that Chris Jericho has paid his dues to the wrestling business. In addition to that, although he is been out and in of the business enterprise in modern times, he's still one of probably the most over-hyped artists in every of WWE. Why on earth would Vince McMahon and the creative staff set him with Fandango on the largest show of the entire year? I mean, this match screams "dark match" if you ask me. I'd have expected something like this on an episode of Sunday Night Heat. Yes, it's "good business" to place over younger talent when you are getting up there in years and are likely to be retiring. That is not necessarily Jericho's situation right now. Despite the fact that he's getting out of bed there in age, he is still a terrific in-ring artist. His skills have eroded ever-so-slightly, but that is it. As far as Fandango is concerned, we have seen alongside nothing from him. He has maybe not found any selection on the mic, as his advertisements have consisted of exactly the same shtick. He is executed one go (albeit a nice one) on tv. He's had zero real television suits. Can Jericho and Fandango have a good match? Yes, most likely. Jericho does not have many poor fits, and there's a reason why Fandango has been brought up to the lineup. He's not a very good discount and he is not a behemoth, therefore it is surely got to be his wrestling ability. However, the question remains such as a old fart: Why would they put a veteran employee who is greatly around with a noob who garners lots of "X-Pac" heat? This is not William Regal putting over a new ability, this is Y2J we are discussing. How is it possible that Jericho merely wants the cash and was willing to confront any opposition that Vince wanted him to? I am aware Fozzy features a following international, but truly Jericho is not bleeding most of his private money into that. WrestleMania provides one of many largest paydays for wrestlers each year. I am not sure that Mr. Jericho actually needs the cash, but another large check never hurts. However, it can maybe not be a money offer. I do believe it's something totally different. Unless you are a (cough Rock cough Stone Cold), Vince does not have a lot of love for entertainers that are wishy-washy concerning the business. Jericho was a loyal worker for many, many years. But, currently he's been putting more of his time and effort into other avenues. Vince does not take well to that until it's projects that WWE is backing. Is this a of sorts to Jericho? Is Vince giving a slap to him in the face for popping in and out from the WWE? I really do not purchase the "there's no place on the card" junk. Injecting Jericho in to just about any deal causes it to be that far better. This just feels like sour grapes and another exemplory case of Vince flexing his aging muscles to exhibit everyone he is still the boss.
