Youssouf Mulumbu: "Not one example for the youngsters and the WBA supporters." - Birmingham Mail

West Bromwich Albion: Youssouf Mulumbu apologizes to Baggies supporters after red card West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion Youssouf Mulumbu apologised to Albion supporters following his late dismissal against West Ham. The Baggies midfielder was handed a red card after kicking the ball aggressively at Gary O'Neil through the closing phases of the 3-1 defeat at Upton Park. It means he will miss out the next three games. Mulumbu got to Twitter following the game to say sorry to supporters. He tweeted: "I am really sorry about what happened...it does not seem like me. "Not an example for the children and the WBA supporters." Steve Clarke acknowledged that his player's activities were significantly out of character. "I said to the class generally they've to regulate their frustrations," said the Albion manager. "It was a frustrating evening for all of us. "We chased the overall game for many of the evening. We also had some chances but the frustration building could be felt by you since we didn't getthe sport to 2-1 and give a chance to ourselves to get something from this. "But you have to manage your self. The game wasn't affected by the red card today but because we've got a little team, it can affect the class for the next three games. Youssouf would have been a big loss to us. "If you'll need a reason (for Mulumbu's reaction), I would imagine it was frustration." Clarke was disappointed with Albion's defensive show at West Ham. "I have got no problems in regards to the result," continued Clarke. "West Ham deserved to get. We started the game quite well, and could've gone in the front when Jaaskelainen made a good save yourself to deny Romelu's deflected free-kick. You can find often small margins in games and in place of being 1-0 up, a couple of minutes later we found ourselves a goal down. From there, it is an arduous afternoon. "To lose two objectives in the way in which we did from their set-plays, and to lose a counter-attack target from our collection play, was discouraging. "The goals we lost were bad. It's something we've to deal with and we may correct it. Like I believed to the kids following the game, we've perhaps not had this feeling way too many times this year. It is been a strategy for us. We have to dust ourselves down and jump back next week against Arsenal."
