Bellator 94: Felice Herrig Apologizes for Post-Fight Scrap with Heather Clark

Before their new attack at Bellator 94, strawweight MMA fighters Felice Herrig and Heather Clark were currently taking shots at each other. But on March 28 while extra eyes were drawn by their heated weigh-in staredown for their match, great sportsmanship was shown by neither woman in a post-fight scuffle after the final round. Herrig later published a apology for her actions on Twitter, explaining the reason for the bad blood between himself and Clark. Based on Herrig, Clark was attempting to battle her for "almost 2 years" while presumably insulting her for apparently not attempting to move up to 125 pounds: To start I need to apologize to any of my fans that thought what I did was unsportsmanlike. Looking right back about it now I probably should not have reacted that way but my emotions got the better of me. Patricia has been on a mission for almost 2 years now trying to fight me and has done the conventional trashing of me to try and get that attention to do it. My management told her she didnt need to go that way and only needed seriously to prove we'd ponder over it and she might make 115lbs. Instead she stored up her hypocritical insults and continued to fight at 125lbs. After Herrig and Clark concluded a match at Bellator 94, Herrig screamed in Clark's face, celebrating her own final direct MMA victory. Clark responded by backhanding Herrig throughout the face, which prompted Herrig to hit right back before refereeAJorge Ortiz separated them. Herrig also mentioned in her Twitter message that she was "tired" of "bigger girls" challenging her to fits outside of her natural weight class. Ahead of their struggle, Herrig also put Clark at the Bellator 94 weigh-ins, pushing back the bigger, larger fighter after they both made weight at the strawweight limit. Whatever the minor conflict, Herrig's win in her second Bellator MMA appearance cements her reputation as you of the top-ranked and more identifiable female fighters in her department. Herrig has gone on an undefeated 4-0 run since 2012, with her last loss coming against Carla Esparza, the current Invicta Hamilton Academical strawweight champ. Clark, a Greg Jackson's MMA staff member, has fallen to 1-3 in her last four fights, withABellator 94 marking her first group of job back-to-back losses.
