INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) a The Cleveland Cavaliers have shot instructor Byron Scott after three losing seasons. Scott went 64-166 with the Cavs, have been damaged by injuries in 2013 but in addition showed little progress. Scott was informed he'd maybe not be coming back on Thursday, 1 day after Cleveland shut a frustrating period using its sixth straight loss and concluded 24-58 a the NBA's third-worst record. Scott has one year left on his commitment. The Cavs picked up his option for 2014 in October. The Cavs' three periods under Scott were among the worst in team history. He is perhaps not entirely at fault, but his young staff in 2013 appeared to tune him out down the stretch, leaving manager Dan Gilbert no option but to make a coaching change for the second time in four years. The Cavaliers closed the summer season with a loss to Charlotte on Wednesday evening. It absolutely was their sixth straight loss, and the 16th inside their last 18 games. On Wednesday, Scott said the growing season has been "frustrating" since the Cavaliers "haven't had our full complement of players. It is still a developing process. I think our folks are still recovering and next year I wish that we'll be healthy." Until I am told by them otherwise I plan on being back." In terms of his potential, Scott, before the season finale, said, "Yeah, I've a year on my contract, (so) Cleveland finished 25A games behind Indiana in the Central Division. 'You eliminate the positives and negatives and what you need to work on for next season," Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving said Wednesday night. "We'll come back collectively in September and come back a much better ballclub. That is the key target. (but) we are not likely to get plenty of games if we remain the last place team in defensive field goal percentage".
